# Welcome

> Programmatic access to Indian court case data across district courts, high courts, and the Supreme Court.

The NeevLegal API gives your application programmatic access to Indian court case data. Search for cases by party name, advocate, judge, or FIR number, retrieve full case histories, and keep records current with live data sync.

## What You Can Build

> [card] Legal Workflow Tools
>
> Track case status and hearing dates automatically across all active matters.

> [card] Compliance Dashboards
>
> Monitor litigation involving your organisation in real time.

> [card] Due Diligence Pipelines
>
> Surface case history during onboarding, underwriting, or M\&A workflows.

> [card] Lawyer Portals
>
> Give advocates a consolidated view of all their active matters and upcoming hearings.

## How the API Works

The API follows REST conventions. Every request is authenticated with an API key passed in the `X-API-Key` header. Responses are JSON.
