# Getting Started

> Create your API key and make your first request in under five minutes.

## Base URL

All API requests are made to:

```

## Creating an API Key

**1. Log in to the Developer Portal**

Go to [neevlegal.neeved.com](https://neevlegal.neeved.com) and sign in to your account.

**2. Navigate to API Keys**

Open **Settings → API Keys** from the sidebar.

**3. Generate a new key**

Click **Generate New Key**, enter a descriptive name (for example, `Production Integration`), and select the permission scopes your integration requires.

**4. Copy the key**

Click **Generate** and copy the key value immediately.

>
> The key value is displayed exactly once. Store it securely before closing the dialog. If a key is lost, rotate it immediately from the dashboard.

## Making Your First Request

Pass the API key in the `X-API-Key` header on every request.

A successful response returns a paginated list of matching case summaries.
